ATLANTA GEORGIA

EXT. GAS STATION - NIGHT

A chaotic crowd, crying eyes, yellow tape, and flashing police lights. A male body is lying on the ground. EMT’s on both sides of him. His face is hidden. Blood runs down the street into the onlookers.

White satin pants soak up the stream of blood. KATHY HAWKINS (50) burdened mother, kneels at the feet of the victim. Behind the caution tape, clasped hands, and eyes to the sky.

Screams echo in the distance as a white sheet is placed over the body. Kathy looks around with a tear stained face and drops her head in defeat.

Artistic Statement

Original Screenplay

A powerhouse for God and a lover of all things beautiful, I penned this screenplay with hopes of reaching souls that have been lost in the rapid pace of the world. With so many painful and overlooked topics being underrated in modern-day living, people aren’t being afforded the opportunity to see things from a different field of vision.

In a place where there’s an overflow of cultural differences, an excessive amount of necessary material should be used to advance communities and view-points of the rising generations. This screenplay does that. From one character’s perspective to another’s, each person’s life shines light on occurrences that others may not be privy to.

With such a broad spectrum of truth incorporated into one story, I wish to use This Screenplay as an effective visualization of multicultural differences as well a stepping stone to the increasing of one’s faith. As an immoderate advocate for God, I wish to use my creativity as an untraditional approach to save souls. My internal hope is for everyone to live a distinctively beautiful life, free of judgement and sin, however I’ve learned that is a rarity.

Through personal lenses, I’ve witnessed immeasurable accounts of mistreatment and perspicacity against anyone that lives outside of society’s norms. Because of this, a lot of imperative perspectives are being neglected, and if the curtain is pulled back, a change can be sparked and implemented.

My plan for this screenplay, is to use relatable scenarios as a learning tool for those that lack not only biblical but moral knowledge as well. Careful not to offend anyone or target a specific group of people, each scenario was well thought out and planned from an angle that would maximize the influence on its viewers.

The biggest standpoints in the project were biblical opinions, racism, marital infidelity, inner-city crime, and personal reform. Each topic is monumental alone but holds unrestrained capacity collectively. Although, they’re the most potent and changeable issues in entertainment as well as modern-day life, they’ve been undervalued for decades. I wish to uncover and highlight their dominance.

Because each character is vastly different from the other, all viewers will be able to relate to something or someone, bringing about their own personal beliefs and feelings surrounding the matters at hand. I’d like for them to find solace in being unique, suffering differently but equally, and the steadily rotating evolution for growth.

Since we all share similar qualities, this screenplay, will appeal to generations of all ages. Specifically, the people that are struggling to find their way in the world by being themselves with no shame, while also honoring holistic practices. Now, is the perfect time to share this story because everything depicted in it is currently happening.

Overall, with the right formulation of the film, it has the potential to cause waves of expansion and conviction. A vast budget will better portray the intricate details of each scheme, allowing a stronger affect, and vision for reform.
